Blue Heron Bridge

Blue Heron Bridge is a shallow shore-diving site beneath the bridges adjoining Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach. Located within Lake Worth Lagoon near the Lake Worth Inlet, it receives clear Atlantic water around slack high tide, when currents weaken and visibility generally improves. Bridge pilings, sandy and rubble-covered bottom, small wrecks, and an artificial reef provide habitat for seahorses, frogfish, octopuses, rays, squid, and many juvenile fishes. Its unusual concentration of small and cryptic marine species has made the site particularly important to underwater photographers and marine-life observers. Most areas are less than 20 feet (6 meters) deep, but dives must be carefully timed around the tides.

Fun Fact: More than 100 kinds of nudibranchs have reportedly been documented around the bridge. This figure comes from specialist dive sources rather than a formal published species inventory.
