Red, orange and blue oversized head sculptures lining a paved pedestrian street

Vaduz

Public Sculpture in Vaduz, 2015

July 2015

Vaduz’s pedestrian center, the Städtle, forms a compact cultural district where museums, government buildings, and public sculpture share the same streetscape.

In 2015, Vaduz hosted part of the sixth Swiss Sculpture Triennial, Bad RagARTz. Its Vaduz exhibition included 50 sculptures, adding a substantial temporary display to the capital’s permanent public works. These photographs therefore document Vaduz’s sculpture landscape in 2015 rather than a complete inventory of works currently installed.

Documented works include Reclining Woman by Fernando Botero; Tänzerin (Dancer) by Carin Grudda; Rolling Head I by Kurt Laurenz Metzler; and Hochsitz (High Seat) by Robert Indermaur.

Current Context

As of 2026, Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein identifies thirteen sculptures from its collection as permanently displayed outdoors, with additional public works located elsewhere in Vaduz.
