Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore, is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali. Known by many names, Divine Mother, Mother of the Universe, Adi Shakti and Adi Parashakti, she is said to be a destroyer of evil. Kali also known as the protector, is often depicted wearing a mundamala, a garland of severed human heads and/or skulls.
