Those who partake in the activity are often referred to as “sprayers.” Despite this recognition, the increase in popularity has also led to legal issues. Many young artists paint buildings without permission, often causing extensive property damage. The mayor has come up with a solution to this problem by dedicating four areas of the city where graffiti is permitted. A “Legal Plain Logo” marks off these regions. Within these areas, there are no restrictions; artists are allowed to spray and paint as much as they want.
